What is Pro Status?

Put simply, manufacturers of deck materials (Trex, TimberTech and Deckorators) need to be sure their product is being installed correctly. To do this, the companies send representatives out to inspect the work contractors complete using their products. The representatives not only inspect the completed project for things like the proper grade and number of fasteners, but they quiz the contractors on proper installation instructions. Once the representative is confident that the project was completed properly and that the contractors abide by the installation instructions, they will certify the contractor as a “Pro”. Why is this important to you? It means that the deck has been installed exactly how it was designed and that the product warranties will all be honored. Always be sure that you are working with Certified Pros!
